Khadidiatou Rachel Bangoura is originally from Liberia and Guinea. She was born and raised in France and grew up in Germany. After studying international relations and development studies in London, she moved to Berlin to study contemporary dance at Danceworks Berlin, where she graduated from in September 2017. Throughout her studies, she has had the opportunity to work with different choreographers, including Jan Pusch (2016/2017) and Simone Wierød (2015) In June 2018, she performed at the 10th Berlin Biennale in Okwui Okpokwasilis’s work Sitting on a man’s head. Their collaboration continued in New York in early 2019 for Okpokwasili’s latest creation Adaku’s revolt. From November 2018 to May 2019, Khadidiatou performed with ‘kollektiv anderer Tanz’ at the Tanzspeicher Würzburg in the piece Vertrauen No.2 - Update under the direction of Thomas Klopp. From September 2019 onwards, she will be part of the Tanztheater Erfurt Ensemble for the production of Face Me-Sacre under the direction of Ester Ambrosino. In January 2020, she will be performing in the guts company’s new production MACHT#1 - es wird gefolgt. Khadidiatou also produces her own work such as her solo The heart is a muscle, which she performed at the 10x6 festival in Berlin in November 2016 and Adult-ish, a piece for 10 dancers, which was performed at the ada studio in Berlin in May 2017 and at the Werkstatt der Kulturen in July 2017.
