Julia Pommer was born in Berlin.
She studied fashion design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle/
Saale.
Since 2010 she is working freelance with conceptual fashion and costume design for
various projects in the fields of performing, fine arts and music.
Among others she worked at Deutsches Theater Berlin, Staatsschauspiel Dresden,
Theater Titanick Leipzig, Staatstheater Meiningen, Volkstheater Wien, Theater Phönix
Linz, Hellerau European Center for the Arts Dresden, Societätstheater Dresden,
Staatstheater Schwerin, Landestheater Coburg and the Nationaltheater Mannheim.
Since 2014 she is member of the geh8 Kunstraum and Ateliers e.V. in Dresden.
2017 she developed performances and objects as interventions in public space with group
exhibitions in geh8 Kunstraum Dresden and Sof ia City Art Gallery as part of the Artist in
Residence program from the fridge (BG) and Goethe-Institut.
Her latest costume works can be seen in Neil LaBute's BASH: Latter-Day Plays at Societätstheater Dresden (director: Anke Salzmann) and in the art film YOLA by Manuel Frolik
