Frieder Zimmermann, born in 1972 in Leipzig, studied musicology at the TU Dresden and composition at the Musikhochschule Carl Maria von Weber. He is a freelance composer for film and theater as well as a musician and producer. He runs the recording studio Quohren MPG, works with the dresden company Cie. Freaks und Fremde and the dresden animated film firm Balancefilm as sounddesigner and composer. Furthermore he is producer of numerous audio books and together with the Trio TWORNA he works on a contemporary interpretation of german folk music.
Frieder Zimmermann is married, the father of three children and lives in a multigenerational house in the beautiful village Quohren.
