She studied theater, film and media studies with Prof. Hans-Thies Lehmann and American studies at the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main. She also completed study visits to Paris and Seattle, USA, where she studied directing.
From 2000-2004, Célestine Hennermann was dramaturge for William Forsythe at the Frankfurt Ballet. From 2002, she also curated the last seasons of the TAT at the Bockenheimer Depot. From 2011-2013 she was dramaturge for Motion Bank, a project of the Forsythe Company. As a freelance dramaturge, she works for FRIKAR Dance Company Norway, Helena Waldmann, the guts company Dresden, as well as with a focus on urban dance - here for the E-Motion collective, Takao Baba, Kadir "Amigo" Memis, Renegade and Jonas Frey. Under her artistic direction, she performs together with scenographer Philip Bußmann as the dance and video collective 2+.
From 2015 - 2019, Hennermann was a lecturer for special tasks on the Master of Contemporary Dance Education course at the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt/M. She has also held teaching positions at the University of Koblenz and Goethe University Frankfurt.
As a choreographer, she has been successfully developing dance for young audiences since 2009 and her work under the label Hennermanns Horde has won several awards (Karfunkel 2015 & 2022 - Children's and Youth Theater Prize of the City of Frankfurt). In 2017 she created Aller Anfang (for everyone from 3) in collaboration with the guts company.
